In terms of "plastic restriction", Canada has a small goal: to achieve "zero plastic in landfills, beaches, rivers, wetlands and forests" by 2030, so that plastic will disappear in nature.
This time they hit hard.
On June 22, 2022, Canada issued the SOR/2022-138 Prohibition Regulation on Disposable Plastics, which prohibits the production, import and sale of seven kinds of disposable plastic products in Canada. Except for some special exceptions, the policy of prohibiting the manufacture and import of these disposable plastics will take effect in December 2022!

1. Disposable plastic cash register bag
Means a bag made entirely or in part of plastic for carrying merchandise purchased from a merchant, and
-Fabric not defined in Article 2 of the Textile Labeling Law; perhaps
-It is a fabric as defined in Article 2 of the Textile Labeling Law, and will break or tear when the bag is used in the following ways:
It is used to carry 10 kg objects 100 times within a distance of 53m, or Wash once according to the domestic washing procedure specified in ISO 6330 Textiles - Domestic Washing and Drying Procedures for Textile Testing.
2. Disposable plastic tableware
Refers to products made entirely or partially of plastic in the form of forks, knives, spoons or chopsticks, and
-Containing polystyrene or polyethylene; or
-After 100 times of washing in the household automatic dishwasher, its physical properties change.
3. Disposable plastic soft straw
Refers to disposable plastic straw with corrugated section, which allows the straw to bend and maintain its position at various angles.
4. Disposable plastic catering appliances
It refers to the plastic products made of plastic completely or partially.
-The shape of the container is made into a clamshell container, a container with a lid, a box, a cup, a plate or a bowl;
-Designed to supply or transport ready to eat food or beverages; and
-It contains foamed polystyrene foam plastic, extruded polystyrene foam plastic, polyvinyl chloride, and a plastic containing black pigment, which is produced by partial or incomplete combustion of hydrocarbon or oxygen degradable plastic.
5. Disposable plastic carrying collar
It refers to the plastic products that are completely or partially made of plastic and can be used in combination around beverage containers for carrying together.
6. Disposable plastic mixing rod
It refers to the plastic products made of plastic completely or partially for mixing or mixing drinks or preventing drinks from spilling from the lid of the container.
7. Disposable plastic straw
Means a pipette shaped plastic article wholly or partly made of plastic, and
-Containing polystyrene or polyethylene; or
-After 100 times of washing in the household automatic dishwasher, its physical properties change.
