rPET
In January, affected by the global supply chain crisis and the EU policy of restricting the use of plastics, the prices of colorless bottles and post consumer bottles and tablets in Europe reached a record high. In February, as the supply of waste plastic bottles continued to be in short supply, the demand for RPET remained tight, and the prices of RPET transparent bottle tablets and food grade particles continued to rise, with an increase of three digits! The rise in the price of colored bottle chips also exceeded the rise in the purchase cost of waste plastic bottles.
At the same time, brands continue to launch new sustainable development projects, but due to the shortage of materials, their growing demand for RPET is often not met, and more and more brands are frustrated by the limited supply of materials for new sustainable development projects.
rLDPE
Rldpe prices fell in January due to weak demand, but recyclers managed to raise prices in February to make up for rising material and energy costs. The price of rhdpe for blow molding remained unchanged in January, while the price of black particles for injection molding fell due to low demand. In February, rhdpe demand remained stable.
rPP
In January, RPP recyclers tried to price higher energy costs, but failed. However, demand improved this month, providing room to pass on some of the rising energy costs to processors. In February, production waste decreased, but there are still enough materials. RPP demand grew slowly at the beginning of this year and rebounded sharply in February. However, the demand of the automobile industry is still far lower than expected.
rHIPS
Rhips prices remained unchanged in January. Due to the competition of cheap raw materials, recyclers can only partially recover the higher costs in February.
