On August 30, the China Material Recycling Association was responsible for the preparation of two industry standards, namely, the Waste Plastic Recycling Guide and the Internet plus+Recycling Service Management Specification, and two association group standard seminars, namely, the Grading Evaluation and Acceptance of the Quality of Waste Plastic Dining Boxes and the Grading Evaluation and Acceptance of the Quality of Waste High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Bottle Bricks, were held in Hangzhou. This meeting is hosted by the China Material Recycling Association and hosted by Zhejiang Lianyun Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd.

On September 4, 2023, the United Nations Environment Programme released relevant pre conference materials for the third session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-3) aimed at developing a legally binding international instrument on plastic pollution, including the "zero draft" text. Although it is not the final clause of the convention negotiation, the "zero draft" text reflects the goals and tasks of United Nations Environment Assembly Resolution 5/14 by proposing key elements and alternative solutions, and uses this to solicit opinions and suggestions from various member states. The 'Zero Draft' proposes 13 key elements for the full lifecycle dimension of plastics, including restrictions on plastic production, problematic plastic restrictions, product design, extended producer responsibility (EPR) system, use of recycled plastics, and waste management.

On September 11, 2023, the China Denmark Plastic Sustainable Development Forum, hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in China, was held in Beijing. As a supporting unit of this forum, Zhu Liyang, President of the China Circular Economy Association, attended the forum activities and delivered a speech. Danish Environment Minister Magnus Heunicke, who is visiting Beijing, is invited to attend this forum. During the forum, through a combination of online and offline methods, China and Denmark had in-depth exchanges on relevant policies, regulations, standards, innovative technologies, and typical models. Anders Sloth Nielsen, Chief Project Manager of the Danish Green Innovation Cluster and Director of the Circular Economy Industry, gave a speech titled "The Current Situation of Waste Recycling and Plastics in Denmark", introducing the current situation of plastic waste recycling in Denmark and the relevant management system experience in promoting plastic waste recycling; Wang Yonggang, Secretary General of the Recycled Plastics Branch of the China Material Recycling Association, gave a speech titled "The Situation and Practice of Plastic Recycling in China", detailing the development status of the domestic recycled plastics industry and sharing practical experience related to plastic waste recycling and utilization in China. Representatives from Chinese and foreign enterprises such as Carbios Company, Jiangsu Saiwei New Material Technology Co., Ltd., Mars Company, and Anhui Fengyuan Biofiber Co., Ltd. shared exciting experiences on innovative technology applications and typical practices related to plastic recycling and substitution.

On April 25th, the Joint Working Group on the Supply Chain of Green Recycled Plastics (GRPG) and the China Environmental Protection Federation jointly released the "Policy and Practice Report on Plastic Pollution Control and Recycling in China" (hereinafter referred to as the policy report).
