Wang Huiwen, vice president of Lenovo Group and chief quality officer of computer and intelligent equipment, said that Lenovo has made many explorations in reducing the source control of plastic pollution through green product design and the use of closed-loop recycled plastics, and promised that by 2025, 100% of the whole line of computer products will contain recycled plastics, with a cumulative use of 130000 tons.
Lenovo is committed to promoting the development of circular economy through intelligent cycle design, use and recycling to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As early as 2018-2019, Lenovo began to phase out disposable plastic tape, tape and plastic film from the bottom plate of ThinkPad computer packaging. At the same time, Lenovo provides biodegradable biomaterial packaging made of bamboo and sugarcane fiber, which can reduce the overall packaging volume of products and improve the efficiency of carbon dioxide emission during transportation.
Since 2008, Lenovo Group has reduced the consumption of packaging materials by 3240 tons through technological innovation such as degradable bamboo and sugarcane fiber packaging. According to the environmental, social and corporate governance report of Lenovo Group for fiscal year 2020 / 21, the consumption of packaging materials decreased by 140 tons in fiscal year 2020 / 21 alone. In addition, Lenovo expanded the range of products using closed-loop recycled plastics to 103 models from 66 models in the previous fiscal year.
In terms of recycling electronic waste, Lenovo launched a list of products made of dead cycle recycled materials (CL PCR). Since the implementation of the scheme in 2017, more than 2500 metric tons of dead cycle materials that should have been landfilled have been used. In addition, Lenovo began to develop low-temperature solder (LTS) solutions in 2016, and invested a lot of time in testing lts on the production line, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 59 tons.

For example, the warm water cooling technology independently developed by Lenovo can increase the computing power of high-performance computer rooms by 5% and reduce the energy consumption by 42% compared with the past by reducing the demand for air conditioners and radiators.
