A few days ago, Jiangyan's first marine plastic recycling project in the province has completed the business license and 6000 square meters of plant lease, and has begun to go through other procedures.
The control of marine plastic pollution is a global problem and a common challenge faced by all humanity. The Jiangyan Ecological Environment Bureau seizes policy opportunities and actively seeks support from relevant higher-level departments. It plans to establish the only "Marine Ecological Comprehensive Management+Marine Plastic Recycling" project in the province in the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone, build a pollutant collection and storage facility "Marine Cloud Warehouse" along the coast, build a marine plastic pollution control system of "market-oriented collection, high-value resource utilization, international certification and value-added", and open up the chain of marine plastic pollution control, Improve the quality of the marine ecological environment, create an internally driven and sustainable "blue cycle" innovation model, and empower the promotion of low-carbon industrial supply chain. The "blue cycle" mode focuses on relying on digital innovation and market-oriented remodeling, effectively solving the problem of no collection and difficult utilization of marine plastic waste, building an industrial value redistribution system, and organically integrating pollution reduction and carbon reduction with common prosperity. Guo Jian, Director of the Jiangyan Ecological Environment Bureau, said that after the project is fully completed, it is expected that 50000 tons of marine plastic can be recycled annually in Jiangsu Province, reducing carbon emissions by at least 67000 tons. It can provide carbon reduction raw material letters of credit for the spinning and clothing, electronic and electrical industries, participate in international carbon trading, enhance industrial ecological competitiveness, and create a model for marine ecological governance in Jiangsu.
At present, the Jiangyan Ecological Environment Bureau is taking the initiative to provide comprehensive services such as site selection, approval, and policies for the 50000 ton/year marine plastic recycling project of Lanjing Yunfan Marine Technology (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., striving to be completed and put into operation before the end of the year. Jiangyan prepares to build the province's first marine plastic recycling project
