In July this year, the sup ban in Europe banned the use of aerobic degradable plastics, but focused on supporting recycled plastics, causing market reflection. In terms of functionality, carbon emission and sustainability, recycled plastics have more obvious advantages. Although there is no mandatory requirement in China, there has been policy concern for a long time.
The proposed idea is basically consistent with that in Europe, that is, the recycling of waste plastics should follow the 3R principle of "reduction, reuse and recycling", which requires waste plastics to be regenerated at the same level first, and those that cannot be regenerated at the same level should be degraded for recycling. In the context of the establishment of the domestic dual carbon target, we expect to launch an industrial development policy for recycled plastics soon.
In theory, recycled plastics can replace primary plastics in most fields. There are hundreds of millions of tons of potential market space, but the technology and market still need to be gradual. At present, the most suitable recycled polyester bottle chip for development is generally preferred by overseas governments and enterprises, and the main attack is also the link of recycled bottle chip. However, China already has a good technical foundation. For example, Sanlian HONGPU has provided EPC services for several renewable bottle chip projects supporting large food and beverage enterprises, and the technology has been recognized by top overseas customers. In addition, China also has a very mature bottle chip recycling system. The "integration of two networks" project currently being promoted will also establish a good foundation for the recycling of other types of waste plastics.
At present, the main problem in China is the low recycling rate of waste plastics and the low recycling rate at the same level. Only 30% of waste plastics are recycled and only 9% of waste polyester bottle chips are used for recycled bottle chips. The core is the lack of mandatory national policies, so that the price of recycled bottle chips is lower than that of recycled staple fibers. However, industry experts predict that after the policy is launched, the domestic production system of recycled bottle tablets will be established soon.
If the addition rate of recycled materials in polyester bottle chips reaches 30% in the future, experts estimate that the market space of incremental recycled bottle chips in China will reach 1.4 million tons and the global space will reach 7.5 million tons. Referring to the overseas situation, experts predict that the enterprises supplying polyester bottle chips for large consumer goods companies will be the main force in the investment and construction of recycled bottle chips.
