The CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued the opinions on fully, accurately and comprehensively implementing the new development concept and doing a good job in carbon peaking and carbon neutralization, which demonstrated China's determination and confidence in unswervingly taking the path of ecological priority, green and low-carbon development, and the planned timetable and road map to ensure the timely realization of carbon peaking and carbon neutralization goals.

Achieving the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization is both a challenge and an opportunity for China. Firstly, at present, China's economic and social development is still in the stage of climbing over barriers, and the demand for energy is still increasing, but it will also promote the fundamental optimization and reform of China's energy structure, industrial structure and ecological structure. Secondly, achieving the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutralization puts forward new and higher requirements for the improvement of China's scientific and technological innovation ability and the construction of scientific and technological talent team. Thirdly, achieving the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization is consistent with the concept of "unity of heaven and man" and "Tao follows nature" in Chinese traditional culture.

The conditions for China to achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization are becoming more and more mature. First, implement effective measures such as industrial structure adjustment, energy structure optimization and energy efficiency improvement in key industries to promote carbon emission reduction. Second, develop renewable and clean energy such as wind energy and solar energy and corresponding industrial chains. Third, carry out diversified education on energy conservation and environmental protection, and promote lifestyles and consumption patterns in the whole society.
