According to Thai public television, the Thai Cabinet decided on February 21 to ban the import of all plastic waste from January 1, 2025. In addition, the import of plastic waste this year and next year will be controlled. The amount of waste imported by the 14 recycling stations located in the tax-free zone this year should not exceed their total capacity of 372994 tons. In 2024, the amount of plastic waste imported by these factories must be reduced to half of their capacity.
