Recently, KT Skylife, a Korean telecommunications company, held a beach event to collect marine waste plastics. The company plans to make set-top boxes by using environment-friendly materials from the collected waste plastics.
On October 11, about 40 people, including Skylife employees, KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation and Green Alliance, participated in the activity held on the bank near the Incheon Bridge Memorial Hall. The participants divided the area into two groups and collected marine garbage, including plastic bottles, stacked on the embankment ramp.
Among the waste plastics collected by Skylife, transparent plastic bottles are transported to LG Chem and recycled into recycled materials. You can send it back to the set-top box manufacturer and use it as an environmentally friendly set-top box material. Skylife plans to produce about 10,000 environmentally friendly set-top boxes this year, and will greatly expand the scale from next year.
Skylife CEO Kim Chul soo said: "Its significance is that this is not an ordinary environmental management activity. It not only protects the environment, but also creates practical benefits, which is conducive to the production of environmentally friendly set-top boxes related to Skylife's main business."
Nowadays, the proliferation of plastic products has caused a lot of damage to the environment. If we can recycle these plastics and create more benefits, it will be a "win-win"
